  1. What is Mobile Meals?
  2. Mobile Meals is a nonprofit organization that delivers a hot, nutritious noontime meal to the elderly, homebound, and convalescing citizens of Stillwater. Mobile Meals does not receive any federal or state funding. This charitable organization is supported by the United Way and the Stillwater Community.

  3. What is a convalescing client?
  4. A convalescing client is one that has sustained an injury or illness and is temporarily unable to prepare a well balanced meal for himself/herself. Regardless of their age, we can provide this meal for them as long as needed.

  5. Who can receive meals?
  6. Anyone living in the city limits of Stillwater that cannot adequately shop or prepare balanced meals for themselves is eligible. Age or financial status is not a factor. Each applicant is interviewed to assess their needs.

  7. How do you become a Mobile Meals client?
  8. Call the Mobile Meals office and the Director will interview you over the phone. The number is (405) 742-5765.

  9. Who prepares the meals?
  10. The meals are prepared by the Stillwater Medical Center Nutrition Services Department and approved by a registered dietician.

  11. What kind of diets can you accommodate?
  12. We are able to accommodate food for Low Sodium, Diabetic, Mechanical Soft (if you have trouble chewing or swallowing), Puree, Renal, Vegetarian, Gluten Free, and many more.

  13. What is served?
  14. Each hot, nutritious meal provides a starch, a protein, and two vegetable servings. Also provided is a salad, bread, dessert, and your choice of milk or juice.

  15. Do you serve the same food every day?
  16. No. We have a six week menu that we rotate through.

  17. What is the cost of the meals?
  18. The cost is $3.50 per meal.

  19. Do I need to pre-pay for my service?
  20. No. Clients are billed at the end of the month for the meals they have taken.

  21. Do I need to share my bank account information to pay the bill?
  22. No. You may pay with cash, check, or money order. We send the bills to our clients at the end of the month.

  23. When and how do I get my bill?
  24. At the end of the month, the volunteer driver brings the bill for the previous month with that day's meal.

  25. Can I cancel my meal for the day?
  26. Yes. Simply call the office by 10:00 AM with your cancellation. The number is (405) 742-5765.

  27. Who are Mobile Meals volunteers?
  28. Mobile Meals volunteers are:

    • Anyone at least 18 years old that wants to give back to the community
    • OSU students
    • Home school families
    • Working men and women
    • Retired men and women

  29. Do you have any other services besides the deilvery of meals?
  30. Yes. We have partnered with several agencies, businesses, and churches to provide:

    • Homebound library service provided by the Stillwater Public Library.
    • Free pet food delivery once a month provided by the Stillwater Milling Company
    • Yard/house work provided by United Way "Day of Caring", OSU students, churches, and businesses

  31. How can I donate to Mobile Meals to help subsidize meals of clients who cannot afford the full price of their meal?
  32. You can send a check to Stillwater Mobile Meals, 1353 West 6th Street, Stillwater, OK 74074. Soon we hope to incorporate a PayPal donation procedure
